ARTICLE 4 – SHOPIFY

Scandinave is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell Scandinave services and products to you.

Your data is stored in Shopify's storage system and databases. Within the general Shopify application, your data is kept on a secure server protected by a firewall.

For payment, if you make your purchase through a direct payment gateway, Shopify will store your credit card information. This information is encrypted in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Information relating to your purchase transaction is kept for as long as necessary to finalize your order. Once your order is finalized, information relating to the purchase transaction is deleted. We therefore do not have direct access to the information you used to place your order. This information passes through Shopify and payment processors.

Indeed, all direct payment gateways comply with the PCI-DSS standard. This Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, PCI-DSS in English for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, is established by the five main card networks (
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card, and JCB). These standards ensure the secure processing of credit card data when you make purchases on Scandinave and through its service providers.

For more information, please see Shopify's Terms of Use here.

ARTICLE 5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the services provided by third-party providers we use will only collect, use, and disclose your information to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us, such as payment processing.

However, some of these providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies regarding the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase transactions on Scandinave.

Regarding these third-party providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies carefully so that you can understand how they will handle your personal information. You can find Visa's here, American Express's here, MasterCard's here, JCB's here, or Stripe's here.

It should not be forgotten that some of these third-party providers may be located in or have facilities located in a different jurisdiction than yours or ours. So if you decide to proceed with a transaction that requires the services of a third-party provider, your information may then be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which that provider is located or those of the jurisdiction in which its facilities are located, for example.

For example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, your information used to complete the transaction could be disclosed under United States law, such as the Patriot Act.

Once you leave the Scandinave site or are redirected to a third-party website or application for your payment, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or by Scandinave's General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use.
